STORM ANNOUNCE HALL-OF-FAME COACHING STAFF FOR 2024 SEASON

Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Storm are proud to unveil the coaching staff for the 2024 Indoor Football League season under the guidance of first-year head coach Andre Fields. With a blend of seasoned veterans and fresh perspectives, the Storm are poised for an electrifying campaign.
 
Leading the charge is first year Head Coach Andre Fields, who brings a wealth of experience and a strategic vision to the Storm. Alongside Fields stands a coaching staff comprised of distinguished individuals, including several Storm and IFL Hall of Famers.
 
A notable addition to this year's coaching roster is Terrance Bryant, an esteemed member of the Indoor Football League (IFL) Hall of Fame, who will serve as the Quarterbacks Coach.  Bryant's unparalleled expertise and passion for the game are set to elevate the performance of the Storm's signal-callers, promising an exciting season ahead.
 
Bryant's illustrious 7-year career with the Sioux Falls Storm began in the winter of 2005. During his career, Bryant led the Storm to five United Bowl Championships (2005-2008, 2013). He was named United Bowl MVP twice (2006, 2013). Bryant was also an All-League Selection in the UIF during the 2006, 2007, and 2008 seasons and was named League MVP in 2006. For his career, Bryant passed for 15,011 yards and 280 touchdowns.
 
Bryant has 11 years of coaching experience, previously working under former Storm head coach Kurtiss Riggs coaching staff from 2009-11 and 2013-19.
 
Joining Bryant are returning Storm Hall of Famers Cory Johnsen and Mark Blackburn, each bringing their own unique insights and championship-caliber pedigree to the coaching staff. Their collective wisdom and leadership will be instrumental in guiding the team to success on and off the field.

All-time great Mark Blackburn brings passion and intensity back to the Sioux Falls Storm Defense and Linebackers group for the 2024 IFL season.
 
Blackburn played seven seasons for the Sioux Falls Storm from 2003-2010 and holds the team's career record in tackles (715.5). Blackburn finished his Hall-of-Fame career ranking 5th all-time in team history in sacks (28.5), tied for 3rd all-time in team history in interceptions (17), and is 3rd all-time in team history in pass breakups. 
 
Blackburn is a 5-Time IFL All-League selection, a 4-time Indoor Football Champion and a United Bowl MVP.
 
Cory Johnsen Cory Johnsen will be entering his 18th season (10 as a player, 8 years coaching) with the Sioux Falls Storm.
 
Johnsen boasts 10 years of indoor playing experience. The Aberdeen, SD native came to the Sioux Falls Storm in 2006 and served as the Nose Tackle for 10 seasons, winning 8 Championships, and was part of the Storm's 40-0 run from 2006-2008.
 
During Cory's 10-year career with the Storm, he has numerous All-League honors. He is the Storm's All-Time Sack leader and holds the team record for most total wins as a player. 
 
Johnson is also tied for second in team history in career TFL's (Tackles For Loss), tied for team lead in Career Forced Fumbles, ranks fourth in Career Blocked Kicks, and holds a Career Win-Loss record of 151-16. Cory was a 2017 IFL Hall of Fame inductee and 2021 Sioux Falls Storm Hall of Fame inductee.
 
Continuing in their respective roles from last season, Offensive Line coach and IFL Champion, Paul Keizer, second year Offensive Coordinator Peyton Riggs, and Running Backs Coach Kristian Porter. Their dedication to excellence and commitment to player development are invaluable assets to the Storm's coaching arsenal, ensuring a dynamic and high-powered offense.

The Storm also made a change to their support staff prior to the start of the 2024 season, adding Equipment Manager, Kim Story for her first season with the Organization. Storm Athletic Trainer, Ben Gannon returns for his second season, while Team Video Coordinator, Lane Kropuenske returns for his seventh season with the Storm.

Training camp runs through Sunday, March 17th inside the Orthopedic Institute Performance Facility. The 2024 IFL season kicks off on Friday, March 22nd at 7:05 PM CT with a road game against the Quad City Steamwheelers. The home portion of the schedule gets underway on Sunday, April 14th at 3:05 PM CT inside the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.

The Sioux Falls Storm are a professional Indoor Football team based in Sioux Falls, SD. The Storm have won 11 Indoor Football championships over 23 seasons and are participants in the Indoor Football league. The Denny Sanford PREMIER Center has been the home of Storm Indoor Football since construction of the site was completed prior to the 2015 season.
