THREE DEFENDERS RETURN TO SIOUX FALLS FOR 2024 IFL SEASON

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm Indoor Football team announced on Friday evening that three defensive players will return to the lineup this season. Linebacker Jalen James, along with defensive linemen Isaiah Blackmon and Logan Swanson, will all return for the 2024 Indoor Football League season.

Jalen James returns for his second season with the Storm, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a knack for making big plays when it matters most. James emerged as a key player for the Storm's defense last season, earning increased playing time and delivering big hits on critical plays during the IFL Championship game.

The linebacker appeared in seven games for the Storm, finishing with 33 tackles (17 solo). James recorded six tackles in the 2023 IFL National Championship game and expects to see an increased role in the 2024 offense.

Isaiah Blackmon has been a formidable force on the defensive line over the last two seasons. His strength, agility, and unwavering dedication have made him a cornerstone of the Storm's defense attack.

Blackmon has appeared in 22 games for the Storm over the past two seasons, totaling 48 tackles (24 solo). Last season Blackmon lead the Storm with three blocked kicks on special teams. His eight tackles for a loss were also third most amongst all Storm defenders.

Logan Swanson heads into his second season with the Sioux Falls Storm. Despite his late arrival, Swanson quickly showcased his skill and determination, earning the respect of his teammates and coaches. As he gears up for his first full season with the organization, Swanson is eager to contribute to the Storm's defensive prowess.

The former Augustana University standout appeared in five games for the Storm last season, recording seven tackles. The 2024 Season will be his first full season with the organization.

"We are thrilled to have Isaiah, Logan, and Jalen back with us for the upcoming season," said Andre Fields, Head Coach of the Sioux Falls Storm. "These three players bring a unique blend of talent, determination, and leadership to our defense, and their return strengthens our team in significant ways. We look forward to seeing their continued growth and contributions on the field."
