MOLINE, IL – The Sioux Falls Storm Indoor Football team struggled to find their offensive rhythm in their 46-30 loss to the Quad City Steamwheelers on Friday Night.
Quarterback
Lorenzo Brown Jr. led the team with 25 yards rushing but faced constant pressure in the pass attack. The veteran signal caller finished the night 9-for-20 with 144 passing yards to go along with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Wide receiver
Draysean Hudson had a good night, hauling in three catches for 83 yards.
Hudson's 39-yard touchdown in the 2
nd quarter sparked a run of 20 unanswered points for the Storm. The offensive outburst was capped off by a
Bryson Denley 7-yard touchdown run that gave the Storm a 23-20 lead early in the 3
rd quarter.
The Steamwheelers answered right back with a 10-0 run of their own before Brown found Wide Receiver
Donnie Corley Jr. on a 4-yard touchdown strike to make it a 34-30 game heading into the 4
th quarter.
That would be the last of the scoring for the Storm, who were held scoreless in the 4
th quarter by a stingy Steamwheelers defense that limited the Storm to a season-low 30 points.
Storm defensive back
Eugene Ford had a solid night, racking up a team-best 9 tackles (6 solo). Ford's 1
st quarter interception was his 5
th of the season, third most in the IFL.
The loss snapped the Storm's three-game losing streak and dropped the Storm to 4-3 overall this season. The Storm will be on the road again next week when they face the Tucson Sugar Skulls on May 20
th at 8:05 PM.
The Sioux Falls Storm return to the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center on Saturday June 10
