The Sioux Falls Storm (8-0) will face the Wichita Falls Nighthawks (7-2) on Saturday, April 29th at 7:05pm. In this week 11 contest, the top two teams in the United Conference will face off for the second time during the 2017 season.
The last time the Sioux Falls Storm faced the Wichita Falls Nighthawks was at the Storm Shelter on March 25th where the Storm emerged victorious 55-21. In that game, Quarterback Lorenzo Brown completed 19 of 21 passes for 187 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Robbie Rouse carried the ball 13 times for 38 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Mike Tatum caught eight passes for 87 yards and three touchdowns, while wide-out Melvin German tallied eight grabs for 76 yards and one touchdown. Defensive backs J'Vontez Blackmon, Carlton Watkins, Fred Barnes and Rashard Smith each grabbed an interception. Blackmon led the Storm with seven tackles.
The Nighthawks two losses have come from the Sioux Falls Storm and Colorado Crush. The Nighthawks are looking to snap their one game losing streak after last weeks crushing 77-73 defeat from the Crush. In that game, quarterback Charles McCullum completed 22 of 29 passes for 273 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions along with one rushing touchdown. Running back Tyler Williams rushed 15 times for 50 yards and one touchdown and grabbed one receiving touchdown. Wide receivers Demarius Washington, Jordan Jolly and Troy Evans each tallied two touchdowns. The Nighthawks defense had 53 total tackles, two sacks, one interception and three pass break-ups.
