Storm Prepare for Titans

May 20 Sioux Falls Storm Cedar Rapids TitansSioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm (10-1) will host the Cedar Rapids Titans (1-11) on Saturday, May 20th at 7:05pm in a week fourteen battle. Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital and the Orthopedic Institute will present the game.

This game will serve as a fundraiser designed around the theme Sack Cancer benefiting a non-profit organization known as SURVIVEiT that provides anyone affected by cancer with immediate access to the combined knowledge and experience of a global community of doctors, cancer survivors, and allies. Matt Ellefson, a Sioux Falls businessman and six-time survivor of Lung Cancer, created and founded SURVIVEiT.

The Storm is looking to extend a two-game win streak after defeating the Green Bay Blizzard 44-24 on Saturday, May 13 during a week 13 Indoor Football League battle. In that game, Quarterback Lorenzo Brown completed nine of 13 passes for 93 yards and one touchdown, while rushing 15 times for 48 yards and one touchdown. Receivers Jared Elmore and Eric Shufford each had a rushing touchdown. While Jonathan Epps led the Storm in receiving with three receptions for 29 yards. Tyler Knight had 5.5 total tackles and a fumble recovery, and Claude Davis recovered the other fumble for the Storm. Khaliff Mitchell tallied two sacks and Cory Henry had one sack.

For the Titans, the team is looking to snap a six game losing streak after a tightly contested game against the Iowa Barnstormers. The Barnstormers won 56-54. In that game, quarterback Brian Carnes finished his night 17-29 for 277 yards and eight passing touchdowns. Receivers Damond Powell had 177 receiving yards with two touchdowns and Tre Parmalee had four touchdowns and 79 receiving yards. The Titans defense had 29 total tackles, one forced fumble, one interception and four pass break-ups.
