Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm faced the Nebraska Danger in a week 17 Indoor Football League battle on Saturday, June 10th. The Storm pulled away in the final minute of the game to edge out the Danger 41-38.

The Sioux Falls Storm received the ball to start the game but were held to an early four and out. The Danger would start their opening drive from their own five-yard line and drive the field to score after a quarterback sneak by Drew Powell, giving the Danger a 0-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Storm quarterback Lorenzo Brown would score off a one-yard quarterback keeper to cut the lead to 6-7 early in the second quarter. The Danger would extend their lead to 6-14 after Drew Powell connected with Eric Thomas for a 13-yard touchdown. The Storm would score back-to-back touchdowns to end the half, first a four-yard rushing touchdown by Lorenzo Brown and then a nine-yard touchdown reception by Eric Shufford to put the Storm on top 19-14.

The Nebraska Danger would receive the ball to start the third quarter and would score after a 3:37 drive after Drew Powell hit Rob Brown for a 19-yard touchdown, giving the Danger a 19-21 lead. The Sioux Falls Storm answered back with a one-yard rushing touchdown by Korey Williams, to give the Storm a 26-21 lead. Nebraska quarterback Drew Powell ran in a seven-yard touchdown to put the Danger on top 26-28 to end the third quarter.

Sioux Falls would start the fourth quarter with a six-yard rushing touchdown by Korey Williams along with a successful two-point conversion by Lorenzo Brown to give the Storm a 34-28 lead. Nebraska would score back-to-back scores after a 19-yard quarterback keeper by Drew Powell then a 43-yard field goal to give them a 34-38 lead. Once again, the Sioux Falls Storm answered with a 15-yard touchdown reception by Mike Tatum from Lorenzo Brown to put the Storm on top 41-28. Nebraska would drive into Storm territory in the final seconds, but quarterback Drew Powell was intercepted by Rashard Smith. Sioux Falls was able to run out the clock to secure the win.

Sioux Falls held a slight edge in total offense, 223 yards to 211, and each team passed for 105 yards. Nebraska committed six penalties for 50 yards, while the Storm were flagged three times for 20 yards.

Quarterback Lorenzo Brown completed 10 of 15 passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing 18 times for 53 yards with two touchdowns. Wide receiver Korey Williams added 24 rushing yards on four carries to his two rushing scores. Running back Robbie Rouse ran nine times for 35 yards. Receivers Eric Shufford hauled in six passes for 68 yards and one touchdown and Mike Tatum caught three balls for 34 yards and one touchdown. Defensive back Carlton Watkins finished with eight total tackles while Rashard Smith had one interception. Defensive lineman Cory Henry registered two sacks and Claude Davis added a sack of his own.

The Sioux Falls Storm (13-2) will travel to face the Iowa Barnstormers (13-2) on Saturday, June 17th for a 7:05pm kickoff.
