Grant is entering his fifth season as an Equipment Manager with the Sioux Falls Storm. He is a native of Sioux Falls and attended Washington High School. After high school Thayer attended Northwestern College (NWC) in Orange City, IA on a football scholarship. While at NWC he majored in Physical Education and Health Sciences.
While in the role of an equipment manager, Thayer has been on the sidelines to see a remarkable run during the 2020 - 2021 season at NWC which saw them progress to the national championship as well as the 2019 IFL Championship.
