Michael signed with the Sioux Falls Storm during the 2019 season.

Junior (Lakeland University, Plymouth, WI, 2016): Michael started all 11 games at quarterback for the second straight yea. He completed 181 of 306 passes for 2,657 yards and 22 touchdowns, and also rushed 148 times for 426 yards and nine touchdowns.
• Whitley was named First Team All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) and NACC Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight year.
• He was a three-time NACC Offensive Player of the Week (Sept. 20, Nov. 1, Nov. 8).
• His 3,083 yards of total offense were third-most in a season in Lakeland history.
• Finished in the top 50 in NCAA Division III in seven individual statistical categories.
• Whitley received NACC Scholar-Athlete Award.
• Entered his senior season ranked in the top five in a number of all-time categories at Lakeland, including second in total offense (7,404), fourth in completions (455) and passing touchdowns (59) and fifth in passing yards (6,101) and attempts (754).

Sophomore (Lakeland University, Plymouth, WI, 2015): Michael started all 11 games where he completed 260 of 427 passes for 3,257 yards and 34 touchdowns, and also rushed 186 times for 640 yards and 15 touchdowns.
• Named first team All-NACC and NACC Offensive Player of the Year after leading conference in passing yards, passing yards/game (296.1), touchdown passes, total offense (3,897), total offense/game (354.3), yards per passing attempt (7.6), passing attempts and rushing touchdowns and tied for first in completions.
• He set school record for total offense in a season and set a school single-game record for total offense with 520 yards. He also tied a school record with six touchdown passes in one game.
• Whitley was a five-time NACC Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 5, Oct. 12, Oct. 19, Oct. 26, Nov. 9) and became first player in conference history to win the award four straight weeks when he swept October awards.
• His passing completions, yardage and touchdown totals all were the second-most in school history, and his rushing touchdown total was fifth-most in Lakeland history.
• He finished in the top 15 in NCAA Division III in six individual statistical categories, including points responsible for (2nd), points responsible for/game (3rd), total offense/game (4th), passing yards (7th), passing touchdowns (tie-7th) and passing yards/game (13th), and in the top 50 nationally in nine categories.
• Whitley received a NACC Scholar-Athlete Award.

Freshman (Lakeland University, Plymouth, WI, 2014): Michael played in seven games as the Muskies’ backup quarterback where he completed 14 of 21 passes for 187 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed 38 times for 237 yards, an average of 6.2 yards per carry.
• Whitley ranked second on team in rushing yards.
• He was the recipient of NACC Scholar-Athlete Award.

High School: Michael was a four-year letter winner in football and basketball and also lettered one year in baseball. He was a team captain for two years in football and three years on basketball team.
• Whitley was the MVP on his football team as a senior and he was named All-State selection in Louisiana.

Personal: Michael is the son of Louis & Delores Whitley and has two brothers (Jarvis and Louis). He majored in business administration.
