SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm Indoor Football team announced the return of two powerhouse running backs,
Bryson Denley and
Xavier Jackson, for the highly anticipated 2024 Indoor Football League (IFL) season. Their return to the Storm underscores their commitment to excellence and their dedication to bringing success to the organization.
Â
Bryson Denley, a seasoned veteran with the Storm, enters his third year with the organization. Denley's speed in the backfield and in the return game makes him a vital asset to the team.
Â
Denley was named the IFL's week 6 Special Teams Player of the Week last season after the Storm's 55-47 road win over the Green Bay Blizzard. His four kick returns totaled 140 yards (35-yard average) giving the Storm good field position throughout the night. One of those returns was good for 53 yards and a touchdown.
Â
The former Bowling Green standout has appeared in 19 games for the Storm over two seasons, recording eight rushing touchdowns and a return score while totaling 617 all purpose yards.
Â
"I'm thrilled to be back in Sioux Falls for another season," said Denley. "The support from the fans and the guys in the locker room make this organization truly special. I'm excited to get back out there and compete with my teammates and battle for a championship."
Â
Joining Denley for his second season with the Storm is
Xavier Jackson, whose electrifying performances last season earned him recognition as a rising star in the league. Jackson's speed, agility, and determination make him a force to be reckoned with on the field, capable of turning any play into a game-changing moment.
Â
"I'm excited to return to Sioux Falls and continue my journey with the Storm," said Jackson. "The opportunity to compete alongside talented teammates and represent this city is something I'm really excited about. I'm ready to give my all to help get this team back to Las Vegas."
Â
Jackson had an electric rookie season, appearing in 10 games for the Storm. He racked up 631 all-purpose yards while recording 14 rushing touchdowns and 6 receiving touchdowns. Jackson's 20 total touchdowns are 11th most by a Storm player in a single season history.
Â
Storm Head Coach Andre Fields expressed his enthusiasm about the return of Denley and Jackson, stating, "Bryson and Zay are integral parts of our team, both on and off the field. Their experience, skill sets, and leadership will be huge for this team as we work towards a 12
th championship in franchise history. We are fortunate to have them back with the Sioux Falls Storm family and I can't wait to see them work in camp."
