TWO-TIME IFL CHAMPION CLAUDE DAVIS RETURNS FOR 2024 SEASON

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm Indoor Football Team are thrilled to announce the return of two-time IFL Champion and All-IFL Defensive Lineman Claude Davis for the upcoming Indoor Football League season.

Davis, a seasoned veteran with a remarkable track record, is set to bring his talent and leadership back to Sioux Falls, much to the delight of fans and teammates alike.

"We are thrilled to welcome Claude Davis back to the Sioux Falls Storm family," said Amber Garry, Storm owner and Team President. "His talent, experience, and unwavering commitment to excellence make him an invaluable asset to our organization. We have no doubt that Claude will continue to make significant contributions both on and off the field, as we strive for greatness in the upcoming season."

Davis boasts an impressive history with the Sioux Falls Storm, having clinched the IFL Championship during the 2016 and 2019 seasons. His invaluable contributions led to Second Team All-IFL honors during both championship campaigns, solidifying his status as one of the most decorated players in franchise history.

Davis last played for the Sioux Falls Storm during the 2019 season, spending five total seasons with the organization during the 2015-2019 campaigns. Davis landed on the Storm roster again during the 2020 off-season, but never took the field due to the season being cut short during the Covid pandemic.

Including the playoffs, Davis has racked up 213.5 total tackles (163 solo) with the Sioux Falls Storm. He currently sits in the top 10 all-time in franchise history in career tackles for loss (6th place- 59), sacks (8th place- 25), forced fumbles (8th place- 5), and blocked kicks (5th place- 6). Davis needs 36 total tackles this season to move into the top 10 all-time in Sioux Falls Storm history.

Davis has also put together some of the best individual seasons by a player in franchise history. During his first year with the Storm (2015), David recorded 16 tackles for loss, ranking 9th most all-time in single season franchise history. He backed that up with 15.5 tackles for loss the following season, giving him 31.5 TFL over a two-year run. In the history of Storm Indoor Football, only Nate Fluit (39.5 TFL, 2003-04) had more tackles for loss over a two-year period.

Davis started the 2023 season with the Sioux City Bandits in the NAL before catching on with the IFL's Duke City Gladiators. He appeared in five games for Duke City, recording 5.5 sacks and 15 total tackles. His 7.5 tackles for loss were second most on the team last season, trailing Jimmy Thomas, who finished with 10.5 TFL over a 14 game stretch.

"Claude showed the league he can still compete at a very high level," said first-year Head Coach Andre Fields. "His veteran leadership in the locker room and on the field will be a huge asset for us this season as we develop a new young core of Storm players. We are very excited to have him back in a Storm uniform this season."

As he prepares to don the Storm jersey once again in 2024, Davis brings with him a determination to further etch his name in the record books.  Claude needs one more TFL and five more sacks to ascend into the top 5 all-time in franchise history, a feat he is primed to achieve with his trademark tenacity and skillset.

Fans eagerly anticipate witnessing Davis' return to action, as he joins forces with his teammates to pursue a 12th Indoor Championship and add to the rich tapestry of success that defines the Sioux Falls Storm.
