Carlos Thompson Returns To Storm Offense for 2024 Season

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm Indoor Football Team is thrilled to announce the return of fan-favorite wide receiver Carlos Thompson for the 2024 Indoor Football League season.

Thompson, who previously played with the Storm during the 2022 season, is set to bring his exceptional talent and versatility back to the team after a stint with the IFL's San Diego Strikeforce last season.
 
Last season, Thompson appeared in 15 games for San Diego, finishing third on the team in yards (661) and receptions (50), while finishing second on the team in touchdowns (16). Thompson joins former Strikeforce teammate, Kentrez Bell on the Storm roster this season. The dynamic duo combined to haul in 132 catches and over 1,700 yards and 40 touchdowns last season in San Diego.
 
During his time with the Storm, Thompson quickly became a standout player, earning the admiration of fans and teammates alike for his dynamic athleticism, remarkable speed, and unmatched determination on the field. His contributions were instrumental in the team's success, and his return is eagerly anticipated by both the organization and supporters.
 
The former "Last Chance U" star racked up an impressive stat line with the Storm during his first stint with the organization, totaling 690 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 14 times for 58 yards and three scores.  Thompson showcased his versatile skill-set on defense racking up 30 total tackles (20 solo) and two pass breakups. He also posted 20 kick returns for 246 yards and a touchdowns on special teams.

Thompson's return marks a significant moment for the Sioux Falls Storm as they gear up for the upcoming season in the Indoor Football League. With his proven track record of success and his unwavering commitment to excellence, Thompson is poised to make a major impact on the team's performance and help lead them to victory once again.
 
Storm training camp is currently underway at the Orthopedic Institute Performance Facility in preparation for the 2024 season. The first game kicks off on Friday, March 22nd at 7:05 PM CT on the road against the Quad City Steamwheelers. Fans are encouraged to attend the Season Ticket Holders Event and Season Kickoff Watch Party on March 22nd at the Alliance to watch the season opening game live. The event runs from 6:30-8:30 PM and will be free to the public.
 
The home portion of the schedule gets underway on Sunday, April 14th at 3:05 PM CT inside the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. Be Sure to get to your seats early for all the pre-game festivities and a special appearance from the ZOOperstars! During the game and at halftime.

The Storm have won 11 Indoor Football championships over 23 seasons and are participants in the Indoor Football league. The Denny Sanford PREMIER Center has been the home of Storm Indoor Football since construction of the site was completed prior to the 2015 season.
