SIOUX FALLS, SD – The Sioux Falls Storm Indoor Football Team announced on Thursday afternoon that former Augustana University standout Logan Swanson has signed a contract for the remainder of the 2023 Indoor Football League Season.
Swanson racked up 129 total tackles (71 solo) while appearing in 44 games over four seasons with the Augustana Vikings. His 32 tackles for loss are third most all-time in program history.
The Mankato, MN native was a force to be reckoned with on the gridiron for an Augustana defense that led the Nation in fewest rushing yards allowed, giving up just over 40 yards per game during the 2021 season.
The 6-foot-3, 311-pound defensive lineman brings an impressive skill set to the Storm. Swanson's ability to disrupt opposing offenses with his speed, strength, and agility has garnered him numerous accolades, including the 2021 NSIC Glen Galigan Award as the conference's top football student-athlete. He was also a finalist for the 2021 Cliff Harris Award, given to the nation's top small college defensive player.
Swanson's best season came during his junior year (2019) when he recorded 51 total tackles (32 solo) and tied Augustana's single season record with 8 quarterback sacks.
The Storm are on the road again this weekend, looking to erase their first, two-game losing streak of the season when they face the Iowa Barnstormers on Friday, May 26th at 7:05 PM in Des Moines, IA.
The Storm hit the bye-week next week before returning to action on Saturday, June 10th at 7:05 PM inside the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center to battle the first-place Frisco Fighters for Military Appreciation night, presented by the South Dakota Army National Guard and Frontier Climbing & Fitness.
