The Sioux Falls Storm opened the 2023 Indoor Football League season in Moline, IL on Saturday night, facing the defending Eastern Conference Champion Quad City Steamwheelers.
Veteran quarterback
Lorenzo Brown Jr. scored three rushing touchdowns and
Tony Tate added two more, but a safety and several costly turnovers proved to be too much to overcome as the Storm dropped their first game of the season by the final score of 36-34.
Brown finished the day with eight carries for 29 yards and three rushing touchdowns, but struggled to get the pass attack working. The veteran quarterback finished the night 6-for-20 with 53 passing yards and two interceptions.
Cole Thurness led the Storm in receiving yards in his IFL debut, reeling in three catches for 26 yards in the loss.

James Brown paced the Storm defense with nine tackles in his first game in a Storm uniform. He teamed up with
Jaylon Abdul-Karim for the Storm's only sack of the night.

OPERATION HOPE & CARING
- The Sioux Falls Storm Indoor Football team has teamed up with Levo Federal Credit Union for Operation Hope & Caring night on Saturday, April 29th inside the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
The Sioux Falls Storm Indoor Football Team (2-2) will host the Quad City Steamwheelers (4-1) in Indoor Football League action. Doors are scheduled to open at 6:00 PM with a one-of-a-kind pre-game show before kickoff at 7:05 PM.
Bring your friends and family out for a fun night of Sioux Falls Storm Indoor Football and help level the playing field for kids in need.
47% of local school kids qualify for free or reduced lunch. This means they might not have money for school supplies, warm socks, winter boots, winter hats, field trips, or washing their clothes. Operation Hope and Caring raises funds for principals to use for these things that many of us take for granted. Since 2017 we've raised over $75,000!

DEAF & HARD OF HEARING NIGHT OUT
SIOUX FALLS STORM TROOPER CAMP
- The Sioux Falls Storm Indoor Football team are hosting their annual Trooper Camp on Saturday, May 6th inside the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
This youth football camp is open to boys and girls between the ages of 4 to 12 years old.
Campers will learn the fundamentals of football and work on their skills while interacting with Storm players and coaches. Each camper will receive a 2023 Trooper Camp T-shirt and a ticket to the Storm football game later that night.
Early registration is available right now on the SIOUX FALLS STORM WEBSITE.
The registration fee for this camp will be $45 through May 5th and will increase to $55 dollars on the day of the event.
Registration for the event opens at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 6th.
Camp is scheduled to start at 10:30 AM and will end around noon.
Additional tickets for family and friends to the May 6th Sioux Falls Storm Indoor Football game against the Tulsa Oilers will be $9.50 per person. Doors inside the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center will open at 6:00 PM with kickoff scheduled for 7:05 PM.
