Box Score SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm were swept by the Spokane Shock this season after a 35-46 loss on Saturday, July 10.
The Shock took an early 0-7 lead after a Kamrin Solomon rushing touchdown. The Storm tied it up after a six-yard rushing touchdown by Nate Chavious. Shock quarterback Blake Sims put the Shock back on top 7-14 after a 10-yard rushing touchdown. The Storm took their first load of the night after scoring on back-to-back drives; the first was a five-yard rushing touchdown by Nate Chavious and then a two-yard rushing touchdown by Brandon Sheperd, bringing the score to 20-14. The Shock Shock retook a 20-21 lead after a 24-yard pass by Blake Sims to Shattle Fenteng. The half ended with a 23-24 score after a 35-yard field goal by Chase Vinatieri and then a 40-yard field goal by Sawyer Petre.
The Shock extended their lead to 23-30 after a 19-yard rushing touchdown by Davonte Sapp-Lynch. The Storm answered with a six-yard rushing touchdown by Brandon Sheperd, bringing the score to 29-30. The Shock extended their lead to 29-37 after a two-yard rushing touchdown by Blake Sims. The Storm cut the lead to 35-37 after a one-yard quarterback rushing touchdown by Lorenzo Brown. The Shock ended the game with a score of 35-46 after a 26-yard rushing touchdown by Blake Sims.
Storm quarterback Lorenzo Brown completed nine passes for 41 yards and one interception along with 86 rushing yards and one touchdowns. Running back Nate Chavious had 44 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Brandon Sheperd had 31 reception yards along with eight rushing yards and one touchdown. Defensive lineman Ch'aim Smith led the Thunder Defense with six total tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack. Linebacker Paris Thomas had three tackles and one pass break-up. Defensive back Famus Hasty had one pass break-up. Kicker Chase Vinatieri made one field goal and two extra points.
