STORM BLOW PAST BUCKS

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm move to 3-1 after a dominating 64-28 win over the Bismarck Bucks on Saturday, June 5th.

The Storm jumped to an early 14-0 lead after a 16-yard sweep by Brandon Sheperd and then a 25-yard quarterback keeper by Tommy Armstrong. The first quarter ended with a 14-7 score after Bucks quarterback Glenn Cuiellette found Raheem Harvey for a 26-yard touchdown.

The Storm extended their lead to 21-7 to begin the second quarter after a two-yard rushing touchdown by Brandon Sheperd. The Bucks would cut the lead to 21-14 after a four-yard pass from Glenn Cuiellette to Mike Carrigan. The Storm would go on to score back-to-back touchdowns to take a 35-14 lead; the first touchdown was a one-yard quarterback sneak by Tommy Armstrong and then a fumble recovery in the end zone by Dequan Harvin. The Bucks scored next with a four-yard touchdown pass from Glenn Cuiellette to JT Stokes, bringing the score to 35-21. The Storm would extend their lead to 42-21 after a one-yard quarterback keeper by Lorenzo Brown. The Storm would regain possession after an interception by Trey Wafford and capitalize with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Tommy Armstrong to Damian Ford; ending the half with a 49-21 Storm lead.

The Storm began the third quarter with a six-yard touchdown pass from Lorenzo Brown to JoJo Gause, bringing the Storm's lead to 55-21. The Bucks answered with a five-yard touchdown pass to Justin Rankin from Glenn Cuiellette, cutting the lead to 55-28. The Storm ended the quarter with a 61-28 lead after a two-yard touchdown pass from Tommy Armstrong to Damian Ford.

The Storm would be the only team to score in the fourth quarter, the score was a 16-yard field goal by Chase Vinatieri, bringing the final score to 56-28.

Quarterbacks Lorenzo Brown completed nine passes for 123 yards with one touchdown and one interception, he also had one rushing touchdown, and Tommy Armstrong completed two out of three passes for two touchdowns, he also had 42 rushing yards with two touchdowns. Running back Nate Chavious had 37 rushing yards and 16 receiving yards. Wide receivers Brandon Sheperd had 58 receiving yards and 18 rushing yards for two touchdowns, Damian Ford had 48 yards for two touchdowns, and JoJo Gause had 16 yards with one touchdown. Defensive back Reid Harrison-Ducros led the Thunder Defense with six tackles, and two pass break-ups. Defensive back Trey Wafford had 1.5 tackles for loss, one interception and five pass break-ups. While defensive backs Jordan Baldwin, Jermaine Robinson and Famus Hasty all had one pass break-up each. Linebacker Marquis Hendrix had five tackles and.0.5 tackle for loss. Defensive linemen Dequan Harvin had one tackle for loss, one fumble recovery for a touchdown, and Ch'aim Smith and Roosevelt Falls each had 0.5 tackle for loss.

The Sioux Falls Storm return home on June 12 for the Storm's Homecoming Celebration where former players Cory Johnsen and Andre Fields and Storm broadcaster Rich Roste will be inducted into the Storm Hall of Fame. The game will be Saturday, June 12 against the Spokane Shock, kickoff at 7:05 PM.
