As 2016 comes to a close, the Indoor Football League looks at the Top Ten Players from the 2016 season. The countdown will culminate with the announcement of the Top IFL Player of 2016 being announced on New Year's Eve.
The IFL is pleased to announce that Sioux Falls Storm WR/KR Korey Williams has been named Number 6 on the IFL's list Top Ten Players of 2016.
Williams, the 2016 IFL Special Teams Player of the Year, was a special talent for the Storm in 2016 as his dynamic play throughout the season helped the Storm win their sixth consecutive United Bowl championship.
After a two-year stint in the Canadian Football League, Williams returned to the Storm with big results. Williams proved to be deadly on special teams as he led the IFL with six return touchdowns last season, two more than any other IFL player. An all-purpose weapon, Williams also added 18 rushing touchdowns and 10 touchdown receptions.
Williams finished his 2016 campaign with: 49 kickoff returns for 1000 yards and six touchdowns, 66 rushing attempts for 320 yards and 18 touchdowns and 52 receptions for 571 yards and 10 touchdowns. Williams finished second in the IFL in all-purpose yards with 1,921 and second in scoring with 204 total points.
Following his 2016 campaign, Williams was named 2016 IFL Special Teams Player of the Year and a First Team All-IFL Kick Returner. Williams has re-signed with the Sioux Falls Storm for the 2017 season.
The IFL's countdown of the Top Ten Players continues tomorrow with the announcement of number 5.
