Donnie Hilsenroth

Hilsenroth will be entering his 15th season with the Storm. This will be his sixth season as head of player control.

Donnie has been with organization since the inception of indoor football, initially as a player, branching out into the coaching position. He coached Special Teams and Linebackers from 2005-09 before entering his current position.

Hilsenroth has impacted the team, since its birth as the Cobras in 2000, leading his team as Team Captain in all his years of play. After his playing career retirement in 2003, his jersey #46 was also retired. For the Cobras, he led the league in tackles and was a First Team All-League selection. During his three seasons playing for the Storm, he was a three-time First Team All-League Linebacker. While playing for the Storm, he earned the league's Defensive Player-of-the-Year in 2002. He ranks first All-Team in tackles in 2001 and 2002, 102 and 107, respectively. These were also single season records for those years. He tallied 278 career tackles, ranking seventh in All-Team Records. Donnie also accumulated 30 career tackles for loss, ranking eighth. His 11 career sacks earned him an All-Team ranking of ninth and six career forced fumbles, which ranks fourth. In the post-season, he ranks ninth with 13 interception return yards.

Donnie has two children. He currently resides in Sioux Falls and serves as a Sioux Falls Firefighter.
