Senior (Slippery Rock University, 2014):
German appeared in 12 games and had 32 catches for 569 yards and seven touchdowns. He also completed 2 of 4 passes for 36 yards and 1 touchdown. German caught 5 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown in the PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) championship game and helped Slippery Rock win its first PSAC Championship since 2000 with a 28-26 victory over Bloomsburg.

Junior (Florida Atlantic University, 2013):
Melvin appeared in five games and made one start for the Owls. He recorded four receptions and 40 yards.

Sophomore (Pearl River Community College, 2012): German played for Pearl River Community College where he completed 293 of 453 pass attempts for 3,121 yards and 21 touchdowns. He added 88 carries for 180 yards rushing and six touchdowns.
• Melvin earned First-Team All-Conference and All-America honors.
• He led the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) nationally in passing offense and was selected to play in the JUCO MACJC (Mississippi Association of Community & Junior Colleges) All-Star Game.

High School: German lettered four times in both football and basketball at Dunbar HS in Florida.
• He earned All-County and All-State honors as a senior and All-County honors as a junior.
• He was also recognized as Region 23's Most Valuable Back.

Melvin is the son of Angela Thomas and Melvin German, Jr.
