During the 2016 season, Fred played for the Chicago Eagles of the Champions Indoor Football (CIF) League and the Cedar Rapids Titans of the Indoor Football League. Ruff signed with the Sioux Falls Storm of the IFL for the 2017 season.

Fred played in one game at New Mexico Highlands.
